Children Age 6-7

Beginning kids age 6 and 7 attend class twice a week: Mondays from 5 to 6 pm, and Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm. The Thursday class is a combined class with the older kids, giving the younger students a chance to look up to a variety of role models.

Saturday outdoor class (9:30-10:30 am) also welcomes students in this age group. Some make it their third class per week; others use it as a make-up class when they have to miss a regular weekday workout.

Children in this class have the opportunity to earn belt ranks (stripes on their belts and colored belts) within the Cuong Nhu children’s ranking system. To earn a stripe or colored belt, a student must have excellent attendance, show good behavior and effort, and be able to demonstrate certain techniques and forms practiced in class. From time to time, eligible students will be invited to take a test and be promoted.

If you’d like to have your child try a free class before joining, please schedule your trial class for a Monday. [During the July/August Summer Session, please schedule for a Tuesday.] Click on this link to register your child for a free trial class. (The link will take you to a page on our old website.)
